You will need an adaptor that allows your camera to attach 52mm threaded devices. Raynox makes an adaptor which can be used to accomplish this: RT5253NT. Any brand of 52mm adaptor that is between 45mm and 56mm long will work fine. An adaptor is required equipment; it is NOT included. We currently don't offer this item for sale, but we have found them readily available online through BugEyeDigital, B&H Photo, and other stores.

An optional (not included with this item) negative / slide / microfilm carrier accessory (click here to view) is available for this duplicator; it fits into the slide copier and enables copies to be made from un-mounted 35mm negative, transparency strips, black and white film, even 35mm microfilm. The opposite side of this carrier has a slide carrier slot designed for use with mounted 35mm slides: the slide carrier, when used in combination with our copier, surrounds and flattens your mounted slide film against the copier face, facilitating the best image quality possible.

This device is designed to position the 35mm slide at the proper distance from the lens to give you the largest image possible. (This particular slide copier model may differ in length and/or thread size from the pictured model, though the design is identical.)

You can use various light sources to illuminate your slides or film. For instance, point your camera, with the slide copier attachment installed, towards: the sky, a light box, a light bulb, or point your camera at a white wall (or white paper taped to a wall) and use your camera's flash.

The bottom line: this device allows you to obtain excellent results when copying 35mm slides with your Nikon camera. It is very sturdily built, and will give you years of service with minimal care.
