Depending upon the filter thread size of the lens that you choose to use with this copier, you may need a 52mm adaptor ring to provide your lens with 52mm threads in order to attach the copier. This copier requires 52mm threads, adapters are NOT included. We sell a variety of standard 52mm step-up and step-down adapters or you may purchase them locally or through other online sources.

Lens Selection: Since the frame will be filled at about 100mm (in 35mm equivalency terms - please see SLR Lens Selection discussion), we recommend that you choose lenses that include this focal length.

An optional (not included) negative / slide / microfilm carrier accessory (click here to view) is available; it fits into the slide copier and enables copies to be made from un-mounted 35mm negative, transparency strips, black and white film, even 35mm microfilm. The opposite side of this carrier has a slide carrier slot designed for use with mounted 35mm slides: the slide carrier, when used in combination with our copier, surrounds and flattens your mounted slide film against the copier face, facilitating the best possible image quality.

"Technical" Information

While this item is presented and packaged for specific camera models, this is in fact our Universal Professional Slide Copier. You can use this same copier on any model camera, camcorder, or lens, as long as standard threaded devices can be attached. Want to use this duplicator on your camera and camcorder? Want to use it with your current camera and on a new camera that you have your eye on? No problem! You may need additional inexpensive adapter(s) to accomplish proper attachment to a different camera, camcorder or lens.

Detailed instructions are included to help ensure that you obtain the highest quality images.

This copier includes, and is precisely integrated with a very high quality, two element, Hoya Macro Close-Up Lens. This is not your common single element close-up lens - single element lenses cannot compete with this superb two element lens for resolution and overall image quality. This lens can be used separately from the copier on your camera - just unscrew the lens from the copier and screw it onto your camera's lens or adaptor.

You can use various light sources to illuminate your slides or film. For instance, point your camera, with the slide copier attachment installed, towards: the sky, a light box, a light bulb, or point your camera at a white wall (or white paper taped to a wall) and use your camera's flash.

The bottom line: this device allows you to obtain excellent results when copying 35mm slides or film with your Fuji FinePix S3 Pro or FinePix S2 Pro digital camera. It is very sturdily built, and will give you years of service with minimal care.
