High quality 52mm Hoya Macro Close-Up Lens. Lens resolution is outstanding; design is two elements in two groups construction, providing a +10 diopter rating for super close-ups of flowers, insects, and other small objects.

This is not your common single element close-up lens - single element lenses cannot compete with this superb two element lens for resolution and overall image quality. This lens produces 1:1 macro magnification with approximately 100mm lens or 2:1 with a 200mm lens!

The macro range is quite astounding when used with commonly provided digital zoom lenses. This lens gives you 100mm (about 4 inches) of working distance between the lens and the subject. Using a 35-180mm zoom lens, you can fill the frame with 3 inches of subject (about 1:2 magnification) at wide angle, then travel through 35mm life-size (1:1 magnification) all the way down to filling the frame with about 16mm or about 2/3 of an inch (1.8:1 magnification) subject at the end of the telephoto range.

This macro close-up lens works on digital cameras, camcorders, movie cameras, 35mm SLRs, and is the lens that we use in our Universal Pro 35mm Slide / Film Copier. The lens should be stopped down as much as possible to increase depth of field.
